Kate has been engaged in visual artwork, including acrylic, oil, watercolor, and mixed media. Her major artistic thrust has been super-realism, working with large pieces and primarily in acrylic. Her work has been presented in multiple shows, galleries, and public institutions in Illinois, New York, Florida, etc. She showed numerous works in the Chicago Art Institute, had work shown in the movie Sixteen Candles, won a number of awards, focused on commission work, and was involved in numerous juried events.

She is currently living on seventy-four acres with her husband, cat, and two horses in the environs of La Veta. She attended the University of Illinois and the American Academy of Art in Chicago. She arrived in La Veta by way of Boulder, Colorado where she was a data specialist for a number of years.

She has great interest in contributing to La Veta’s flourishing art scene and helping La Veta to move forward in a positive direction.
